• JerryRigEverything starts the durability test with a scratch test on the front screen.
• The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover screen with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection started showing scratches at level 6 and deeper scratches at level 7. This is similar to most flagships.
• However, the inner display doesn’t appear that strong as it started signs of scratches at level 2, with deeper grooves at level 3. 
• This is expected considering the screen is made of UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass).
• The side frame and the new improved hinge of the phone are aluminium and are prone to scratches.
• Now, the durability test moves to the screen burning round.
• While the outer screen managed to last for about 10 seconds before throwing black pixels, while the inner lasted 15 seconds.
• Lastly, the foldable has been put through a bend test. Interestingly, the hinge was able to resist extreme bending (in the opposite direction of the hinge) and there were no signs of bending. 

The phone simply survived and was totally in a usable state despite the scratch, burn, and bend tests. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 came out with flying colours even when dust and dirt were poured all over it. Overall, JRE says the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is quite durable, especially when compared to other models on the market but do remember it is still foldable and won’t be as durable as a regular phone with no hinges.

It looks like Samsung did a good job with its foldables this year as the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s older sibling also displayed impressive results. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 was also put to the test by the YouTuber. The foldable phone was forced to bend outwards with a good amount of force but it remained intact, and did not develop any deformities.
