The entire incident was detailed and shared by the student Atharva Khandelwal on X. Here, he says that he had placed an order for the MacBook M1 on Flipkart, and paid Rs 76,000 for it. The MacBook was supposed to be for his further studies in college. The initial delivery for the product was scheduled for August 13th but the delivery person reportedly dodged calls until August 15th. He was then asked to visit Flipkart’s hub and collect the package from there itself.
Upon reaching the Flipkart hub, the delivery person asked for the OTP before opening the package, and insisted on it. Once the OTP was provided, he opened the package but instead of the MacBook, it was a pair of boAt speakers worth Rs 3,000. According to the student, all evidence at the time of delivery has been recorded including the delivery person admitting that he received the wrong product.
Flipkart denies refund
The student reached out to Flipkart’s customer support and complained about the issue but the e-commerce platform denied any refunds. Flipkart reportedly refused to make any refunds saying that the product comes under the platform’s ‘No Returns’ policy. According to Flipkart’s No Returns policy, there are specific products that cannot be returned once ordered, and among these are Apple products.
According to the tweets shared by the student, it looks like the matter hasn’t been resolved yet. With Flipkart refusing to issue a refund, the only other option for the customer would possibly be to take this matter to the consumer court.
