The move to trademark the names comes right after Tata showcased the Curvv and Avinya concept cars and demoed the Gen 2 and Gen 3 EV platforms last month. Tata Motors is currently enjoying a stronghold in the passenger EV segment in India with the success of the Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV. The company also launched a higher range version of the popular Nexon EV, called the Tata Nexon EV MAX recently.
Tata Motors registers four new names for upcoming vehicles
Tata Motors has registered four new names for upcoming models in the lineup, namely the Styzor, Bovita, Auroar and Xiomara. The upcoming vehicles are likely to be part of the ten-car onslaught that Tata is planning for the Indian EV space by 2026.
The upcoming EVs will obey the three-platform strategy that Tata demoed recently. The cars could benefit from the Gen 2 or the Gen 3 (Skateboard) platform. The Gen 2 platform debuted underneath the Tata Curvv Concept Car while the electric skateboard a.k.a Gen 3 platform was showcased as the underpinnings for the Tata Avinya Concept Car.
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, the company’s electric mobility division set up late last year, has seen a great amount of trust from the Tata Sons group and currently has a good flow of funds to materialise its engineering ambitions. The Curvv and Avinya concepts are expected to debut over the next three years and the is also said to be working on an all-electric SUV called Sierra. Tata enjoys more than a 90 percent market share in the electric passenger car segment in India.
