Not so long ago, the telecom partnered with global leaders like Nokia and Ericsson for equipment required in its 5G rollout. The company conducted multiple trials in different locations and came out with a top speed of 5.92Gbps in Pune using Ericsson’s latest software.
Vi 5G network in Delhi soon?
After the 5G auction in India ended, the services were said to launch this month and will be available to use by October. Word on the Internet is PM Narendra Modi might announce the 5G services in India at the Indian Mobile Congress 2022, held on September 29th.
While the text does not give a precise date of when to expect the 5G service in Delhi, it is expected to launch soon and roll out could start by October 2022. Apart from Delhi, the 5G rollout is stated to happen in 2022, beginning in 12 other cities: Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune Hyderabad, Chennai, Jamnagar, Kolkata, and Lucknow.
For those concerned, you don’t need to upgrade to a 5G SIM to enjoy the fast speed, as long as telecom uses NSA 5G technology. However, you’ll need a 5G compatible device to take advantage of the fifth-generation network.
