Vivo recently launched its  V9 smartphone (review) with a notch display and octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC in India. The smartphone happened to be the first Android phone in India to come with a notch display. Now, it seems that the brand might be working on a new variant of the handset. A recent spotting on the popular benchmarking website, Geekbench revealed a mysterious smartphone with an identical spec sheet.

Vivo 850

The new Geekbench spotting is seen with a model number ‘Vivo 1850′. The listing reveals that the handset comes powered by MSM8953, which points to the Snapdragon 625 chipset. Further, the smartphone is seen with 4GB RAM and Android 7.1.2 Nougat pre-installed. The smartphone managed to score 760 points in the single-core test and 3,873 points in the multi-core test. While nothing else is known at this point in time, it is being speculated that the new smartphone could be a slightly toned-down variant of the Vivo V9.

Speaking of the Vivo V9, the smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch notched full HD+ display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC. The chipset has been mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB native storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. In the imaging department, the handset offers a 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel setup on the back and a 24-megapixel camera on the front. The handset runs Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo ad is powered by a 3,260mAh battery. For security, the phone gets an AI-based face unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
