What makes the Vivo X200 FE special?
No doubt, the key USP of the Vivo X200 FE is its compact form factor. The size makes it incredibly comfortable to hold, and at just 186 grams and 8mm thin, it’s also lightweight. The phone is available in three colours, giving you a good variety of options based on your preferences. Not to mention the IP68 and IP69 certifications, making it highly resistant to liquids and dust.
As part of Vivo’s X-series, this phone receives considerable attention for its camera capabilities. You get a competent 50MP OIS primary camera paired with a 50MP OIS periscope lens that offers 3x optical zoom. The 50MP selfie camera is another strong point. On the camera front, this device is impressive, at least on paper.
The only caveat here is the underwhelming 8MP wide-angle lens, which feels out of place compared to the other lenses. Despite this, the device still offers a complete camera setup with all the major lenses, making it incredibly versatile. The Vivo X200 FE boasts a battery that can easily outdo several standard-sized phones in its segment and those of higher models. You easily get over 10 hours of screen-on time, and it charges from 20 to 100 percent in just under 45 minutes, the top-up time is quite sweet.
While not its major highlight, the visuals on this device are also excellent. It features a 6.31-inch 8T AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and broad colour coverage. The high-end AMOLED panel enables the display to refresh at a rate as low as 1Hz, which improves battery efficiency. With HDR10 support, you can stream HDR content across YouTube and streaming platforms, so entertainment is quite top-notch.
Software-wise, you get four major OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates, ensuring the phone runs smoothly for years and remains relevant. To keep costs down, some compromises are necessary. As mentioned, the wide-angle camera is a letdown, but there’s also UFS 3.1 storage and a USB 2.0 port, which seems somewhat out of place considering the high-end hardware. While not the most cutting-edge in 2025, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ still delivers flagship-level performance for most tasks.
Vivo has achieved something significant here. In a compact form factor, they’ve created an impressive phone that can compete against higher-priced rivals on most fronts. While there are some compromises, such as the wide-angle camera and storage, in day-to-day use, you won’t feel most of them, especially in terms of performance, since the chipset is still from last year’s flagship. If you’re looking for the latest bleeding-edge chipset or faster storage speeds, this may not be the ideal choice. At Rs 54,999, this device is for users who value the form factor and prioritise aspects like cameras, battery, build quality, and overall performance.
