WhatsApp Chat Filters feature is now being rolled out to all users in a phased manner. It will be rolled out to everyone in the coming weeks. Ensure you have the latest WhatsApp version to find three new tabs on top of the app’s main screen. These are All, Unread, and Groups. They let you easily find unread and group conversations. Here’s how it works:
What are WhatsApp Chat Filters
- All: This is the default view wherein you can see all WhatsApp chats including unread and group messages.
- Unread: This lets you find the WhatsApp messages that you haven’t read or missed.
- Groups: You can find all the group chats in one place. You can also see subgroups of Communities here.
How to use WhatsApp Chat Filters
Before you proceed, go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and update WhatsApp to the latest version.
- Step 1: Open WhatsApp
- Step 2: Go to the main screen and above all chats, you will see the three new tabs
- Step 3: Tap on the Unread tab or the Group tab to see the respective type of chats.
The Chat Filters let you better organise your WhatsApp conversations and find unread messages easily. Announcing the feature, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “Rolling out chat filters on WhatsApp so you can find important messages fast.”
