Xiaomi HyperOS India launch: supported devices
Xiaomi is launching HyperOS in India on February 29 at 12 PM. The company posted the same on X. It said, the platform will be connecting “personal devices, cars and smart home products in a smart ecosystem”.
This is just days ahead of the Xiaomi 14 launch in India. The date is March 7th and so we figure the HyperOS announcement is in the lead-up to the flagship phone’s introduction in the country.
Meanwhile, the company has also announced the list of HyperOS-eligible devices at Mobile World Congress 2024:

We are expecting some of these devices that are available in India to receive the HyperOS update. Xiaomi has already announced the update for devices like Xiaomi 13 Pro, POCO X6, POCO X6 Pro, Xiaomi Pad 6, and POCO F5.

- Moving with the times, HyperOS is going to bring some AI capabilities to Xiaomi devices like text generation, image creation from doodles, text extraction from images, etc.
- It could sport various UI customization tweaks for the lockscreen, Control Center and other areas.
- Improved performance in terms of longer app retention in memory, faster boot times, loading speeds, etc.
- It also doubles down on security measures, permission management and encryption protocols.
- It is expected to have smarter interconnectivity options like using a Xiaomi phone’s rear camera as a webcam on a Xiaomi laptop, the ability to share mobile data with other Xiaomi devices, and getting Xiaomi smartphone notifications on other larger-display devices.
