Xiaomi HyperOS: what’s new?

Xiaomi is doubling down on its phone and AIoT strategy with the launch of HyperOS. The brand plans to unify the software in its phones, cars and ecosystem products and provide a seamless experience. Here are some features of the new Android 14-based skin.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS software comes with a new Mi Sans font, which supports over 400 languages. The icons of iconic Xiaomi apps have been redesigned, too. A significant change in the new HyperOS skin is the Lockscreen customisation functionality, which provides users with multiple effects, clock styles and more.

Further, thanks to HyperConnect functionality, Xiaomi devices can have a shared clipboard, perform direct screen mirroring, enable productivity mode and have more connected features in the Notes app. The Gallery app has been updated to support multiple new AI features including AI Removal, AI Portrait and Generative AI Part. A roll-out plan for sister company POCO‘s devices is yet to be released.
