TRIVIA

Trivia

This was the first film raj kapoor made without nargis as heroine. Raj kapoor wanted to know that could he make a film without nargis. After this film Raj kapoor knew that he can. Pran benefited from this film because of the role and his perfomance. This was the last RK film in b/w. During the shooting of this film, Raj Kapoor got the idea of ram teri ganga maili, which he made after 20 years.

The director was Raj Kapoor's long-time cameraman. However, significantly perhaps, it is Kapoor's name (as the producer) that is the first and last to appear on screen.

The heading on the page of the credits listing assistants has a typographical error. Instead of "assistants" it says "assisianis".

The wide-screen DVD has chopped several credits from the bottom of the screen. The ones that are missing are: Salochana Chatterjee, Harish, A. Mulla, Y.R. Virkud and Ansari. Only the tops of the letters of some other names are visible.
