While Airtel users can start using 5G right away provided they are in a 5G-enabled city, Jio users on the other hand are first required to enrol in the Welcome Offer and recharge their mobile number with Rs 239 or above recharge plans. Applying for the Welcome Offer can be done through the MyJio app.

Why am I not getting 5G signal?

If you’re not getting 5G signals despite being present in a city where 5G is rolled out, it may be possible that your telecom operator, such as Jio, Airtel or Vi, is yet to roll out 5G services in your area or locality. Try moving around to other areas where 5G is live.

How to check if your area/ locality has 5G service?

If you are an Airtel user, download the Airtel Thanks app. The app has an option called ‘Check if your phone is 5G enabled’. Click on it, to know the availability of Airtel 5G services in your area.

Otherwise, Airtel and Jio users can download SpeedTest app by Ookla on their mobile phones. The app has a ‘Map’ feature that tells you where the 5G services are currently available.

Which cities have 5G services?

Airtel has rolled out its 5G Plus services in a handful of cities, including Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Guwahati, Patna, and Pune.
