HP refurbished laptop programme details
- According to the company, India is the first place where HP is starting a programme to sell renewed PCs, and they plan to do this in other areas in 2024.
- In India, the company runs the programme on a subscription basis for businesses, where they can use up-to-date tech for 6, 12, or 24 months.
- The company is now expanding this to offer refurbished PCs to regular customers and small businesses on a pay-as-you-go basis.
- At first, HP says it is focusing on refurbishing notebooks, but it wants to grow and offer more things.
- HP’s approved partner will get devices from businesses and regular customers, fix them up according to HP’s rules, and then sell them. They’ll also give good support after the sale, including a warranty.
- The refurbishment scheme is based on HP’s earlier trial projects, like the reusing of around 20,000 devices annually for their own employees.
- The company said it aims to reach 75 percent circularity for its products and packaging by 2030.
