Apple iPhone 15 sales could start from September 22nd
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter talked about Apple’s upcoming iPhones. Here, he mentions that the iPhone 15 sale will start around September 22nd, a week after the launch event that is rumoured to happen on September 12th or 13th. Given Gurman’s accuracy on Apple updates and iPhone launches usually taking place in September, these might just be the final dates.
There have been reports about Apple facing possible supply shortages for its new iPhone lineup. Some even speculate that the release date could move to October. So, even if the September launch goes as planned, Apple might have only a limited number of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max units for sale that month.
iPhone sales see a slump
Apple also isn’t seeing the best iPhone sales according to its Q2 (April-June) earnings report. The company reported quarterly revenue of $81.8 billion, which is a decrease from $83 billion last year. Apple said most of its sales came from its services hitting an all-time revenue record with over one billion subscriptions. While Apple mentioned that it saw good iPhone sales from emerging markets including India, overall global sales saw a decline of two percent for last year’s lineup.
With the iPhone 15 series, Apple is expected to launch at least four models — iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new iPhones are expected to feature USB-C ports and a new ‘Action’ button that will replace the mute switch. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are said to feature titanium frames with smaller bezels.
