Facebook revamps Privacy Checkup with new interface and easy explainers

Facebook has given its Privacy Checkup feature a much needed makeover, thereby bringing a more accessible layout for general users. Furthermore, Facebook has given the Privacy checkup a much needed new interface, which simplifies the settings and breaks it down to easily understandable wording. Now, all users will need to do to access their privacy settings is to type Privacy Checkup into the Facebook search bar, and access the four-part settings window. Users can also tap on the '?' at the top of their Facebook homepage, or any page they are on, and access Privacy Checkup from there.

The first section of Privacy Checkup shows up content sharing settings, from which users can control who can see what they share on their timeline. According to Facebook, the settings that you can control from here include, "Choosing who can see certain information on your profile, like your phone number, email, birthday and relationship status, Updating who can see your future and past posts and Reviewing who you've blocked on Facebook. For example, you can add people to your blocked list. Learn more about what happens when you block someone on Facebook."

The second section of Privacy Checkup offers an easy way for users to change their passwords, and also turn on login alerts to identify any possible unauthorised logins. The third lets users control how they can be tracked by other users on Facebook. Through this setting, users can restrict the extent of people who can send them friend requests, and also control whether other users can search for their profiles using phone numbers and email addresses.

The fourth and final section helps users review all third party apps that have access to their Facebook data. This typically involves all third party platforms that users may have logged into using their Facebook accounts, and is important to review to ensure that redundant services no longer have access to user data. The new interface and simplified settings are live already, and can be accessed from their Facebook apps right now.
