Google Play Games adds support for iOS devices

“Now you can challenge your friends with iOS devices to beat you in a game”

At the GDC (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco, Google has announced a slew of updates to its Play Games service. Previously an Android exclusive, the biggest change is that it now supports iOS devices as well. This means that the Android users can now play against their pals who use iOS devices, as well as share their achievements with them. Google Play Games- send gifts Google has also introduced a new feature dubbed as game gifts, which as the name indicates, lets the user share virtual in-game objects. The objects could be sent to people who are in the user’s Google+ circles or through player search within the app. Players will also be able to send multiplayer invites to anyone through the Play Games app itself. Along with the improvements to the Play Games service, Google has also made it easier for players to discover games in the Play Store with 18 different categories listed. Google unveiled the Play Games service back in May during its annual IO conference. The service is quite handy for avid gamers allowing them to see their achievements, check leaderboards and most importantly save the game’s progress on the cloud (if game developers have enabled this feature).
