iPhone 14 series to incorporate high-end selfie snappers

As per a report by ETNews, Apple is looking to buy high-end selfie snappers for its upcoming iPhone 14 series of smartphones. The brand is reported to be resorting to LG Innotek to supply the cameras, including Sharp. This would necessarily be the first time that Apple would resort to a Korean company for its front cameras.

The report suggests that Apple is taking its front camera game more seriously now, and is designating selfie cameras as high-end components going forward, a leap from its current approach of low-end front cameras used with its existing iPhone devices.

For those unaware, the LG Innotek cameras were initially tipped to be incorporated with the iPhone 15 series smartphones, but Apple has apparently moved the schedule forward in a hurry, partly because of some alleged quality problems that have been encountered with the Chinese cameras it has been using. Owing to this, Apple has let go of the unnamed Chinese manufacturer(s) and has now started talks with LG Innotek instead.

Readers must be made aware that this is unconfirmed news for now, and Apple has not put an official stamp on the same. It, therefore, is advisable to take things with a slight grain of salt till the time the brand confirms it. In any case, one thing is certain – we are going to see a camera improvement with the upcoming iPhone 14 family.
