iPhones beat Samsung phones in 5G performance in India
- In India, three out of four iPhone 15 models exhibited notably faster median 5G download speeds compared to their iPhone 14 counterparts, as per Ookla.
- Speedtest Intelligence data from September 22nd to October 20th, 2023, indicated that the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Plus all demonstrated improved speeds over their respective previous models.
- Data also indicates that the iPhone 15 Plus achieved the highest median download speeds in 5G, reaching 335.09 Mbps.
- iPhone 15 Plus was followed by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus and several other phones from Samsung and Apple.
- For median upload speeds in 5G, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 led with a score of 21.95 Mbps.
Meanwhile, in the US, Ookla’s ranking of the fastest 5G phones is led by the iPhone 15 series. The iPhone 15 Pro Max claims the top spot with a median 5G downlink speed of 285.02Mbps and a median uplink speed of 18.26Mbps.
Following closely, the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro secure the second and third positions with downlink speeds of 275.48Mbps and 268.99Mbps, respectively. The iPhone 15, with a 5G downlink speed of 249.30Mbps, takes the fourth spot.
The first non-iOS device on the list is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, registering a median 5G downlink speed of 231.56Mbps. It’s noteworthy that all top five phones utilise the Snapdragon X70 5G modem chip.
