This new iPhone issue was shared on Reddit, and replies to the thread shows that it's not an isolated problem. As spotted by MacRumors, an iPhone user shared how two alarms didn't go off in the morning, something that's never happened before. The same happned to not just the OP but their son as well which seemed like a weird co-incidence.
Similar experiences were shared by other iPhone users who said that their alarms didn't go off as well. According to one of the replies, several iPhones turned off on the same night, and this could have been the cause behind the alarms not going off as scheduled. For this iPhone user, it turned back on just a minute before the alarm was supposed to ring.
The Redditor also explained how you can confirm this by going to your battery settings, and checking if there's a gap during the night. You can see your battery level throughout the night, and if there's a gap then your iPhone must have been turned off during that time.
This issue is reportedly affecting iPhone 15 models, and it could be something to do with iOS 17, according to MacRumors. Whether this is actually an iOS 17 issue or not hasn't been confirmed yet. iPhones automatically turning off and restarting at night can be problematic especially for those whose alarms don't go off. Apple is also yet to officially acknowledge the problem, and if it's a persisting one then a fix should be released soon.
