Exclusive: Lenovo K8 and K8 Plus launching in India in mid-September

“Lenovo is all set to introduce two more variants of the K series in India”

Earlier this month, Lenovo launched its latest mid-range offering, the K8 Note, in India. Now according to our sources, the company will be launching two more smartphones in the K series in the country soon. 91mobiles has learned that the brand will be releasing the Lenovo K8 and K8 Plus smartphones in India by mid-September.

Our source didn’t reveal exactly when the brand would be launching the K8 and K8 Plus in the country, but we do know that these will land in the second half of September. Unfortunately, there’s no word on the pricing of these devices at the moment. The Lenovo K8 Plus was spotted on Geekbench featuring a 1.69GHz MediaTek Helio P25 processor, mated to 3GB of RAM. Since the device features an underpowered chipset compared to the K8 Note, we expect it to be priced in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment.

As for the K8 Note (review), the mid-ranger was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 12,999, and was quickly sold out in its first sale. The phone flaunts a metal unibody design and 13MP + 5MP dual cameras with bokeh effects at the rear. It comes in two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The other specs include a 5.5-inch full HD display, a MediaTek Helio X23 processor, Android Nougat, VoLTE and a 4,000mAh battery.
