Motorola announced a new smartphone launching on April 3rd in India. The brand has now revealed the phone’s name, and as expected, it’s the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. Motorola has also unveiled the Edge 50 Pro’s design in a new teaser image. The same smartphone is expected to launch as the Moto X50 Ultra in China, and the Motorola Edge+ (2024) in the US.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro India launch confirmed

  • Motorola Edge 50 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on April 3rd. It is also confirmed to go on sale via Flipkart, Motorola’s online store, and leading retail stores.
  • The teaser announcement also highlights AI as one of the core features of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It will feature ‘create with AI’ that will let you generate a unique wallpaper with AI. 
  • The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is also confirmed to feature a 50MP AI-powered pro-grade camera. It will also come with AI features such as AI adaptive stabilisation, photo enhancement engine, and tilt mode. 

Motorola Edge 50 Pro confirmed features

  • Motorola Edge 50 Pro is confirmed to feature a 6.7-inch pOLED 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 2000 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+. It’s claimed to be the world’s first Pantone-validated display.
  • The smartphone will house a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary camera and an LED flash.  
  • In terms of design, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has a slim form factor with curved edges, a flat display and a punch-hole camera. It will come in three Pantone curated colours of black, purple and white with a vegan leather finish.

As far as the rest of its specs are concerned, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor paired with 12GB of RAM. It could pack a 4500mAh battery with 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. Joining the 50MP primary sensor could be a wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera with 6x zoom.
