“Nokia 8.2 specifications reportedly include a pop-up selfie camera, quad rear cameras with 64MP primary sensor, 5G-compatible Snapdragon 700 series chipset, etc”
Nokia 8.2 specifications, features, and launch timeline have leaked online, suggesting it could be a major upgrade over the Nokia 8.1 smartphone. The Nokia 8.1 camera setup will reportedly feature as many as four sensors cameras in a circular module on the back and a selfie shooter in a pop-up selfie module. The primary camera sensor on the back is said to have 64MP resolution, with pixel binning being used to get the smaller final images; the Night Mode will also be more powerful compared to Nokia 7.2. Other features mentioned in the report include 5G and improvements to OZO audio. HMD Global is said to be planning to launch Nokia 8.2 at MWC 2020.
According to a report by Nokia Power User, the Nokia 8.2 prototype device is already in testing. It will be promoted by the brand as a value flagship smartphone with 5G support and will be priced around $500 (about Rs 35,000). In September, when Qualcomm announced the 5G-compatible Snapdragon 7xx series chipsets that are going to hit the market in 2020, HMD Global had confirmed its plans to launch a device powered by the 700 series chipset. This device could end up being Nokia 8.2.
MWC 2020 is scheduled for late February, so the launch is still several months away. The Nokia 8.2 specifications do make it seem like an exciting device on paper, but considering how fast technologies come and go in the smartphone industry, it may not remain such an exciting proposition in a few months. After all, we moved from 48MP cameras to 64MP cameras to 108MP cameras in a matter of months!
