Nokia 8 starts receiving Android Oreo update

HMD Global introduced the Nokia 8 (review) flagship smartphone with Android Nougat in August this year. Soon after the unveiling, the company announced that the Nokia 8 will be getting the Android Oreo update. Now as promised earlier, the brand has finally started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the flagship. The update is available for the phone across the globe including India. The update for the handset is being rolled out over the air in phases, so it may take some time to reach your device.

The Android Oreo update for the Nokia 8 brings a lot of new features. The update delivers a pure version of the latest OS with no skins or no changes in the stock user interface, said the brand. Talking about the features of the update, there’s a new Picture-in-Picture mode that lets you watch a YouTube clip while messaging and using other apps. The update brings an improved user experience and faster performance. For the uninitiated, the Nokia 8 was launched in India in late September for Rs 36,999. The phone is available on Amazon India and select brick-and-mortar stores, and comes in black, blue, copper and silver hues.
