ChatGPT voice conversation feature

The new feature will essentially let you have a back-and-forth conversation with ChatGPT. It’ll start with you asking a question, and you can either end it manually or just stop speaking for the question to end. ChatGPT will then come up with a response to your question. You can even interrupt while it’s speaking, and then continue the conversation.

Open AI suggests users to “request a bedtime story for your family, or settle a dinner table debate.” The experience is similar to talking to AI-powered assistants such as the Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri.

ChatGPT’s vocie feature will be available only on its Android and iOS apps. It will be an opt-in feature that users can find through the Settings menu, and under the ‘New Features’ section. After this, users can tap the headphone button in the top-right corner of the home screen, and choose the preferred voice out of five options.

Open AI is also rolling out ‘voice and images’ for ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users. This feature will let users take pictures, and have a live conversation about it with ChatGPT. Some examples of this feature shared include taking pictures of your fridge and pantry, and ask ChatGPT for dinner recipes. Users can also take pictures of math problems, and have ChatGPT help out with hints. Voice and images in ChatGPT will be available in the next two weeks.
