"OPPO will launch both the Reno and Reno 10X Zoom Edition smartphones will be launched in India on May 28th"
We had earlier reported exclusively that OPPO is gearing up to launch its Reno series in the Indian market. Now, 91mobiles has received a teaser poster from a retail chain source that reveals the OPPO Reno phone will be unveiled in India on May 28th. As we have previously reported, both the Reno and Reno 10X Zoom Edition smartphones will be coming to India. The former is powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC, while the latter has the Snapdragon 855 processor inside and features 10x lossless zoom. Both the smartphones feature the shark fin-shaped pop-up selfie module.
The teaser poster that the company is keeping under wraps for now is similar to what we saw previously when OPPO announced the company its new Reno brand. Needless to say, the company will be the targeting the upper mid-range segment with the new OPPO smartphones. OPPO's sister company Vivo also plans to launch the iQOO smartphones with similar features in India by June. Of course, the OnePlus 7 series is also around the corner, so we can expect a host of affordable flagships in the Indian market.
The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition is the company's first smartphone with 10x lossless zoom camera technology that was announced at MWC 2019. At the rear, the handset has three cameras, namely a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 13MP telephoto lens. A 16MP selfie shooter is housed in a wedge-shaped pop-up module.
Other key OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition specifications include a 6.55-inch AMOLED full-HD+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent and Gorilla Glass 6. The handset gets an optical in-display fingerprint scanner for security and a 4,065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging to keep running. The phone comes in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB and 8GB + 256GB. The other features include ColorOS 6, Dolby Atmos sound, a 3.5mm audio jack, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0.
As for OPPO Reno standard edition, the phone has the Snapdragon 710 processor and is fitted with a 6.4-inch OLED display with Gorilla Glass 6. It comes in 6GB + 128GB, 6GB + 256GB, and 8GB + 256GB configurations. At the rear, the device has a dual 48MP + 5MP camera setup with SuperClear night mode. For selfies, you get a 16MP snapper. Other features include a 3,765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support, ColorOS 6, Dolby Atmos, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0.
