OPPO Reno Ace with 90Hz display and 65W fast-charging launched alongside OPPO K5: price, specifications

The OPPO Reno Ace and OPPO K5 have been launched as the brand’s latest smartphones in the Chinese market. The Reno Ace expands OPPO’s mid-range Reno series, while the OPPO K5 is a successor to the K3 smartphone that was introduced not so long ago. The OPPO Reno Ace is a flagship offering that packs 90Hz display (with 135Hz sampling rate), Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, and up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage onboard. The handset is also the world’s first smartphone with an impressive 65W Super VOOC fast charging support. The tech is rated to charge OPPO Reno Ace’s 4,000mAh battery in just half an hour. The OPPO K5 smartphone, meanwhile, joins the bandwagon of 64-megapixel camera phones. The handset packs quad-camera setup at the back, Snapdragon 730G SoC, and 30W Super VOOC fast charging.

OPPO Reno Ace and OPPO K5 price

The OPPO Reno Ace price in China is set at RMB 3,199 (~Rs 31,000) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone’s 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants with 256GB storage will set you back to RMB 3,399 (~Rs 33,000) and RMB 3,799 (~Rs 37,999) respectively. As part of an introductory offer, the two 8GB variants of Reno Ace will be priced at RMB 2,999 (~Rs 30,000) and RMB 3,199 (~Rs 32,000), respectively.

The OPPO K5 comes at a starting price of RMB 1,899 (~Rs 18,000). This is for the entry-level 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The handset’s 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option has a sticker price of RMB 2,099 (~Rs 20,000) whereas 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs RMB 2,499 (~Rs 24,000). The handset comes in three hues – Green, Blue, and White – and goes on sale in the country starting October 17th.

The OPPO Reno Ace ships with a 6.5-inch 1080p OLED display that has a 90Hz refresh rate and 135Hz sampling rate for a smooth experience. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, aided by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB native storage. OPPO also packs the phone with TurboBoost 2.0 and FrameBoost 2.0 to up its performance. As far as the cameras go, the OPPO Reno Ace sports quad camera module at the back with 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The other sensors are: 13MP telephoto lens, 8MP wide-angle lens, and 2MP macro lens. Apart from these, the handset has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. The entire setup is driven by a 4,000mAh battery with 65W Super VOOC fast charging tech. The handset also supports Dolby Audio, USF 3.0 storage, cooling tech, and more.

OPPO K5 specifications

Talking about the OPPO K5 specifications, the handset features a 6.4-inch OLED screen with waterdrop notch, Full HD+ resolution, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. At its core lies gaming-centric Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is paired with Game Boost 2.0 to further enhance the performance. The phonemaker ships the handset with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, which is further expandable using a microSD card.

The OPPO K5 rocks quad-rear camera setup, which is equipped with Samsung’s GW1 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor. This is paired with an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with 119-degree field-of-view, 2-megapixel depth-sensing unit, and 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera of the phone features a 32-megapixel shooter to take selfies and video calling. A 4,000mAh battery with 30W charging tech fuels the OPPO K5, while Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 takes care of software side of things.
