“A new teaser video shows the POCO X2 with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and circular ring around the rear camera setup, similar to the Redmi K30”
POCO is making sure it reveals something new about the POCO X2 in the days leading up to its launch in India on February 4th. We already know the smartphone will come with a 120Hz display and 27W fast charging support. The company has now posted a teaser video, which pretty much confirms everyone’s theory – the POCO X2 is a rebranded Redmi K30. The 7-second teaser video gives us a quick look at the frame, revealing a purple colour finish and side-mounted fingerprint sensor. We also get a partial look at the rear panel, which shows a circular ring around the vertical camera setup. All of these features seemingly confirm that the POCO X2 is a rebranded Redmi K30.

POCO X2 specifications
The POCO X2 teaser video gives us our biggest proof yet that the phone is essentially the Redmi K30 for the Indian market. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor suggests the POCO X2 will come with an LCD display rather than an OLED screen, much like the Redmi K30. There is still plenty that we don’t know about the POCO X2 yet, but we can now speculate about some of the specifications based on the Redmi K30.

Much like the Redmi K30, you can expect the POCO X2 to come with a dual punch-hole cutout to house dual selfie cameras. The smartphone will likely get a 64MP quad camera setup on the back and a 4,500mAh battery. To recall, the Redmi K39 4G variant that launched in China supports 27W fast charging just like the upcoming POCO X2.
A major question on people’s mind is the chipset powering the POCO X2. If the smartphone is indeed a version of the Redmi K30 4G, then you can expect the POCO X2 to ship with a Snapdragon 730G SoC. It seems unlikely that the POCO X2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset, as the company’s teasers would have highlighted 5G support by now. You can expect POCO to reveal something about the chipset ahead of the POCO X2 launch in India. Lastly, a Geekbench listing has revealed that the POCO X2 will come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants.
POCO X2 price in India
In a report by HT Tech recently, it was suggested that the POCO X2 price in India will start at Rs 18,999. This sounds a bit unexpected from a brand that is expected to disrupt the market much like it did with the POCO F1. We expect the starting price of the POCO X2 around Rs 16,999, so that the phone can take on the Realme X2.
