- This will be the first Realme phone in India to feature a 144Hz display.
Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G phones have launched in India two weeks ago and the latter brings the top of the line specifications such as the Dimensity 920, a 90Hz AMOLED display and 60W fast charging. Now, rumours have started surfacing regarding the standard Realme 9, which is said to be available in 4G and 5G models. 91mobiles has exclusively learned from industry sources that the Realme 9 5G will arrive with a 144Hz display, which would be a first for a Realme phone in India. However, it seems the phone will come with an IPS LCD panel instead of an AMOLED screen. Nothing is being said about the 4G model at the moment.
According to the image we received, the Realme 9 5G will support a 7-speed variable refresh rate. The image also confirms certain design elements, such as a corner punch-hole camera and side fingerprint sensor. Realme has launched a couple of phones with a 144Hz display in China, namely the Realme Q3t and Realme Q3s, which are pretty much identical phones.
Realme 9 5G specifications (expected)
Realme 9 5G had already bagged EEC, BIS and FCC certifications. According to recent reports, the handset is said to be available in four colour options – Stargaze White, Supersonic Blue, Supersonic Black, and Meteor Black colour options. The handset will be available in 4GB RAM/64GB and 6GB RAM/128GB storage configurations.
The upcoming Realme 9 5G is said to sport a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset paired with 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB storage options. The device is likely to run Android 12-based Realme UI skin on top out of the box. In the battery department, expect a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Moving to optics, the Realme 9 5G will have triple cameras on the back, with a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth and a 2MP macro triple-lens. The front camera is said to offer a 16MP sensor for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The 4G model may also have similar specs but the chipset will be different.
