Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 5G SE have been launched in India, just under a month after the Realme 9 Pro lineup was unveiled in the country. The new devices are cheaper alternatives to the top-end Realme 9 Pro+. The Realme 9 5G SE aka Speed Edition comes with the premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 144Hz refresh rate and 30W fast charging support. It appears the company is promoting the handset as a gaming option on a budget. Meanwhile, the standard Realme 9 5G comes with MediaTek Dimensioty 810 chipset that enables 5G connectivity. Both phones have a punch-hole camera, a rectangular rear camera module, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Realme 9 5G SE price in India is Rs 19,999 for 6GB + 128GB model and Rs 22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. It comes in Starry Glow and Azure Glow colour options. Buyers can avail of an instant discount of Rs 2,000 on ICICI Bank and SBI Bank Credit card and credit card EMI transactions.

Realme 9 5G SE has a large 6.6-inch FHD+ display with 2412×1080 pixels resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, a punch-hole cutout, 180Hz sampling rate, 90.8 percent screen to body ratio, and 600nits peak brightness. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset paired with Adreno 642L for graphics. It packs up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The phone supports up to 5GB of virtual RAM for better multitasking.

The Speed Edition phone runs on Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 custom skin out of the box and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
