Redmi K30 reportedly powered by MediaTek 5G SoC

"Dual 5G support means that the Redmi K30 SoC will work with both SA and NSA networking"

Redmi K30 is confirmed to be the company's first 5G smartphone yet, as a standalone brand. It will come with support for both SA and NSA networks and feature a punch-hole design with a sizeable cutout on the top right corner to accommodate dual selfie cameras. Now, China-based blogger 'Digital Chat Station' on Weibo has hinted that the Redmi K30 with 5G would be powered by a MediaTek chipset. To recall, MediaTek announced the Helio M70 5G modem with sub-6GHz 5G speeds earlier this year and will start shipping to manufacturers this quarter. Given that Xiaomi's standalone brand opted for Helio G90T gaming SoC for its recent Redmi Note 8 Pro, it won't be a surprise if Redmi's newfound interest in MediaTek chipsets expands to Redmi K30 as well.
