“Redmi K30 is tipped to feature a 64MP primary sensor in a circular module and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor”
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently confirmed that the Redmi K30 launch event will be in December. With just a month to go for the launch, rumours and speculations about the Redmi K30 specifications and design have been pouring in. We have seen some alleged Redmi K30 live images that seem to confirm that the phone will sport a dual-selfie camera cutout, much like the Samsung Galaxy S10+. It is now being suggested that the back of the Redmi K30 will feature a quad-camera setup in a circular module.
Redmi K30 design
In a tweet, a Twitter handle by the name TechMate claims the Redmi K30 design will include a circular camera module that houses four sensors and will be headlined by a 64MP sensor. With this, it seems Redmi is looking to join the ranks of Huawei and OnePlus in launching phones with circular rear camera module. The rounded camera bump will be placed around the centre of the rear panel, according to the sketch. According to the tweet, the Redmi K30 will sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is in line with earlier rumours.
The tweet does not mention the source of the source of the information, so it would be wise to take this with a pinch of salt for now. But based on what we have heard so far, it looks like Xiaomi is taking some inspiration from Samsung and OnePlus in designing the upcoming Redmi K30.
Redmi K30 specifications
Based on what we have heard so far about the specifications, Redmi K30 will come with 5G support when it launches in December. It is said to feature a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, much like the ASUS ROG Phone 2. The Redmi K30 is expected to be powered by either a Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G SoC. It is also rumoured to launch with 64GB of internal storage to start with. As for the price, Redmi K30 is said to cost a little more than RMB 2,000 (about Rs 20,000).
We expect to learn more as we approach the handset’s December launch. On the other hand, we will have to wait a little more for the Redmi K30 Pro launch, which is tipped for some time in 2020.
