“The 12 million Xiaomi devices sold during the sale include Mi and Redmi phones, Mi TVs, ecosystem devices, and accessories”
Xiaomi has announced that it had sold over 12 million devices in a single month, during the festive sale period from September 28th till October 29th 2019. This includes sales across Mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart, Amazon, and all offline partner stores. Xiaomi claims that this translates to a massive 40 percent YoY growth over last year’s festive sale. Devices sold during the sale include Mi and Redmi phones, Mi TVs, ecosystem devices, and accessory products. To nobody’s surprise, the Redmi Note 7 series led the charge during the festive season as the most popular devices.
Xiaomi sold over 8.5 million smartphones during this period, translating into 37 percent YoY growth. The company claims that it is one of the highest numbers of units sold by any brand in India in a single month. While Redmi Note 7 lineup remained the best selling series overall, Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A were the best selling budget smartphones on Amazon. Moving to TVs, Xiaomi said that it sold over 600,000 Mi TVs during this period, accounting to 48 percent YoY growth. The total smart TV industry estimated to be around 400,000 per month, while Xiaomi sold over 600,000 within one month.
Xiaomi also sold over 3 million Mi ecosystem products and accessories, which account for 42 percent YoY growth for the category. Mi Bands, power banks, and Mi Air Purifier 2S were the bestsellers in their respective categories on Amazon. At the beginning of the festive period, Xiaomi announced it sold more than 5.3 million Xiaomi devices in the first few days of festive sales.
Raghu Reddy, Head of Categories and Online sales, Xiaomi India, says, “Our festive sales have soared beyond expectations where we have sold an industry-leading 12 million+ devices across all our platforms. We are thrilled, and equally humbled by all the love we have received from our customers and Mi Fans across India, and we will continue to work persistently to usher in the festive cheer for everyone each year.”
