Reliance Industries Ltd has revealed the date for its 46th Annual General Meeting. The Reliance AGM will take place later this month and will see Chairman Mukesh Ambani announce the diversified conglomerate’s growth and expansion plans. Ambani also uses the AGM platform to announce new products and services, especially with respect to Jio, and we can expect some developments on that at this AGM as well.
Reliance AGM 2023 details
The Reliance AGM 2023 will take place on August 28th, the company revealed in a notice to the exchanges, as per The Economic Times. The AGM is expected to be live-streamed through Reliance’s official YouTube channel starting at 2 PM IST.
What to expect from Reliance AGM 2023
Apart from the announcement of the listing date of Jio Financial Services, Mukesh Ambani is also expected to make some announcements regarding Jio 5G plans and the Jio 5G smartphone, among other things.
Jio 5G plans
Jio 5G services are already available in thousands of cities across the country, with a complete rollout expected by 2024. However, Jio is yet to announce its 5G plans – users have so far been able to use 5G services on existing 4G plans. The company could use the AGM 2023 stage to finally reveal 5G plans. As per past reports, Jio 5G plans are expected to cost similar to current 4G plans, but with more usable data and other benefits.
Jio Phone 5G
Back in 2020, Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio was partnering with Google to launch affordable 5G smartphones in the country. We haven’t heard much about this Jio 5G smartphone since, but we might finally see its launch on August 28th. The Jio 5G smartphone appeared on Geekbench in December 2022 with the Snapdragon 480+ chipset and Android 12 OS. The phone’s live hands-on images were leaked as recently as June, suggesting its release is imminent.
Jio Air Fiber
Jio announced the Air Fiber 5G hotspot device at last year’s AGM but the product is yet to be available for purchase. We expect the Jio Air Fiber’s India price and availability to be announced at the 2023 AGM later this month. The Air Fiber is an ultra-high-speed 5G hotspot device to deliver wireless fiber-like 5G speeds at home or office.
