The Galaxy A70 update reportedly caused a "hardware mismatch" that led to devices being bricked
Some Galaxy M31 owners took to Twitter and the Samsung Members app to companion that the new update version M315FXXU1ATD1 caused their device to be stuck in the downloading screen. However, folks over at SamMobile were able to update their Galaxy M31 unit to the latest version, so it doesn't seem that the update has been affecting all users. That being said, the complaints were enough for Samsung to pull the release. Samsung will be looking into the matter and may release a brand new update with the April security patch for the Galaxy M31 in the coming weeks.
As for the Galaxy A70, the report says that the update caused a "hardware mismatch" that led to devices being bricked. It is unclear whether this is the same issue that is being faced on the Galaxy M31 as well. Either way, it hasn't been a great update release week for Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 was launched in February touting a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED waterdrop display. It is powered by the Exynos 9611 SoC paired with 6GB RAM. The phone also highlights a 64MP quad camera setup and a 6,000mAh battery. The phone recently received a price hike and is now available starting at Rs 16,856.
The Samsung Galaxy A70, on the other hand, was launched in India last year touting a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 675 chipset, triple rear cameras, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast-charging. The smartphone has been succeeded by the Galaxy A71, which was launched with an Infinity-O display, Snapdragon 730 processor and 64MP quad cameras.
