Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G to launch later this year: report

5G is likely to make the handset more expensive.

Highlights
  • The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was Samsung's second foldable smartphone
  • The handset was introduced back in February without 5G connectivity
  • Samsung is allegedly prepping to launch Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G version soon

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is reportedly getting a 5G version later this year. The handset was the second foldable smartphone from Samsung, introduced back in February alongside Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Despite being the successor to Samsung Galaxy Fold, which comes with fifth-gen cellular connectivity, the Z Flip lacked the 5G support. All that is likely to change soon. As reported by SamMobile, Samsung has 5G Galaxy Z Flip in the pipeline, which could be launched as early as before the end of the year. That said, the 5G version is likely to push the price of the handset up. The 4G Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, to recall, has been priced in India at Rs 1,15,890 – following the price hike.
