Samsung is all set to launch its new generation of foldable smartphones in a few hours. The brand is hosting this year’s Galaxy Unpacked on Wednesday, July 26th in its home country, South Korea. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are expected to be accompanied by a host of other new products in the ecosystem. This includes the Galaxy Watch 6 series and the Tab S9 series. A new leak has now revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 India prices ahead of the launch event.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 India prices detailed
Samsung could be pricing its upcoming phones similar to their predecessors. Based on a new tweet by tipster Paras Guglani, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will start at a price tag of Rs 1,50,000. A discount of Rs 6,500 could be offered through select bank cards. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will start at Rs 1,00,000. There could be a bank discount of Rs 5,000 based on the screenshot in the embedded tweet.
To recall, Samsung launched Galaxy Z Fold 4 at a higher Rs 1,54,999 price tag, so it seems like the brand is looking to put the device back under Rs 1.5 lakh range. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 was a little cheaper at Rs 94,999. The price increase on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could be due to a higher base storage of 256GB and a bigger cover screen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 specifications (expected)
- Display: 7.6-inch 120Hz internal display and a 6.2-inch 120Hz outer display on the Z Fold 5. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 could come with a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch 120Hz interior display.
- Processor: Both phones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
- RAM and storage: 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage on the Z Flip 5, 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage on the Z Fold 5.
- Cameras: For the Galaxy Z Fold 5, a triple camera setup of 50MP + 12MP + 12MP is present. The Z Flip 5 will feature a dual camera 12MP + 12MP setup. For selfies, both foldables are expected to house a 10MP front camera.
- Others: The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will most likely run Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 out-of-the-box. Both phones also feature IPX8 water-resistant rating.
The India pre-orders for all new devices will begin as soon as July 27th. Samsung opened a pre-reserve portal for these phones both online and offline earlier this month. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to come with incremental upgrades and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will now feature a bigger cover screen to compete with the likes of OPPO Find N2 Flip and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. The conglomerate has already confirmed a refined, no-gap hinge design for both models.
