Vivo V23 series is likely a rebrand of the Vivo S12 series that launched in China earlier this week.
Update: Soon after our report, Vivo officially revealed that the launch date of the V23 series is January 5th. It seems the poster we received was off by a day, but it also looks like Vivo has multiple dates lined up for the announcement. The global launch of the Vivo V23 series is on December 30th, according to the official website.

Vivo V23 series will launch in India on January 4th, 91mobiles has exclusively learned from industry sources. While the company is yet to reveal the launch date officially, it has started teasing the series as we spotted a promo video being telecast during the Pro Kabaddi League recently. The lineup is expected to include vanilla Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro, with the latter expected to arrive with a unique colour-changing rear panel. The standard Vivo V23 has bagged BIS certification with the model number Vivo V2130. It shouldn't be long before Vivo officially confirms the launch date.
The launch date teaser image shows the phone will have dual selfie cameras on the front, which seems to confirm it will be a rebrand of the Vivo S12 that launched in China earlier this week. We can speculate it could be the Vivo V23 Pro. As for the other Vivo V23 Pro specifications, it is said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset paired with Mali G77 GPU and boot Android 12 OS out of the box, with FuntouchOS custom skin.
The phone packs 8GB RAM, but there may be other options at launch. The handset is set to have a 64MP primary camera on the back and an FHD+ (1080x2376 pixels resolution and 409 ppi pixel density) display, probably with a higher screen refresh rate. It has 5G network connectivity and fast-charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
On the other hand, not much else is known about the vanilla V23 but we can speculate it may have slightly stripped-down specifications to lower the price tag. Either way, the January 4th launch date falls in line with 91mobiles exclusive report earlier this month. We should know more details about the phones leading up to the said launch date.
