Previously, users could share their status updates on Facebook Stories, but they had to do so manually for each update. The new feature will automate the process for selected status updates chosen by users, making it more convenient for them. The feature will be located in the Status Privacy setting on WhatsApp and users will be able to link their Facebook accounts. It will be optional and disabled by default, meaning that users will have to enable it themselves if they want their status updates to be shared on Facebook Stories.
This feature is expected to save users time and effort as they will no longer have to manually share their status updates with Facebook Stories while using WhatsApp. The feature will be available to both Android and iOS users. In addition to this, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature called "audio chats," which will allow users to initiate audio chats within conversations. This feature is said to include a new waveforms icon in the chat header and a red button for ending ongoing calls.
These new features add to the many others that WhatsApp has introduced in the past year. The company is striving to maintain its position as the dominant messaging platform, especially in the face of competition from Telegram.
