The Xiaomi car is getting closer to being real. The company recently announced that it is holding an event on December 28th to unveil its EV technology that will be seen in its first electric car. The car, called SU7, was recently spotted on the roads while testing. Now, Xiaomi head Lei Jun shared the first official image of the upcoming Xiaomi car.

  • The image also confirms the car will be powered by Xiaomi HyperOS, which should enable seamless software integration between the Xiaomi car and phone.
  • The Xiaomi SU7 has five-spoke alloy wheels, with Michelin tyres and Brembo yellow brake callipers. There is a ‘Mi’ logo as well.
  • The car seems to feature a camera attached to the side-view mirror and this should offer a clear view of the surroundings.
  • We can also spot a rearview mirror and a large infotainment screen inside the car, similar to a Tesla car. 
  • Xiaomi seems to have opted for small side-view mirrors. The car has flush door handles and these enhance the overall aesthetics.

The Xiaomi SU7 EV is a C-class luxury sedan car and will compete with Tesla, NIO, Geely and others. The recently leaked camouflaged SU7 EV images confirm the LiDAR sensor placed on the roof. The car features an active wing, which is designed to capture and redirect air to enhance acceleration speed. These are usually found in racing and high-performance cars, where drivers want to maximise their speed.

The Xiaomi SU7 features thin headlights and a sloped bonnet, which elevates the overall design. The car could have a three-spoke steering wheel, a drive mode selection, and more. As per the image shared on Weibo, the SU7 Max EV could have a facial recognition technology on the B-pillar.
