“The Vivo Y83 Pro comes as a budget offering with a notch-bearing screen”
Just yesterday, Vivo sent invites for a press event in India that’s scheduled for September 6th. At the event, the company is expected to unveil its next-gen mid-range smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor called the Vivo V11. Ahead of the V11’s release, the brand has launched a new budget smartphone in the country called the Vivo Y83 Pro. The handset comes as a successor to the Vivo Y83 (first impression), which was launched in May this year.
Coming to the specs, the Vivo Y83 Pro offers a 6.22-inch FullView Display 2.0 bearing a notch up top, which contains the selfie camera and other sensors. The phone has a dual primary camera setup at the back, comprising a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary snapper. For selfies and video calling, there’s an 8-megapixel shooter.
Talking about the other specs, the Vivo Y83 Pro is packed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card. The device boots Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Fueling the handset is a 3,260mAh battery. Unfortunately, we don’t have the information regarding the Y83 Pro’s SoC at the moment, but it is expected to be a MediaTek processor.
The Vivo Y83 Pro has been priced competitively at Rs 15,990. The phone is available to pre-order via major brick-and-mortar stores across the country, and will go on sale soon.
