Motorola earlier today launched its latest lineup of foldable smartphones – the Moto Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra. Both the foldables come in a clamshell-folding design, and in three colour options each. The Moto Razr 40 Ultra has possibly the largest external display on a foldable phone. The Moto Razr 40 series debuted in China, and in North America. Motorola is expected to launch the foldable phones in more markets including India.

Moto Razr 40 Ultra, Razr 40: Price and availability

  • The Moto Razr 40 Ultra starts at 5,699 CNY (Rs 66,100 approx) for the base model with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. It also comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and, this variant is priced at 6,499 CNY (Rs 75,300 approx).
  • The Moto Razr 40 comes in three variants: the base 8GB + 128GB model priced at 3,999 CNY (Rs 46,400 approx). The 8GB + 256GB model is priced at 4,299 CNY, and the 12GB + 256GB model retails for 4,699 CNY (Rs 54,500 approx)

Both the Moto Razr 40 Ultra and Moto Razr 40 are available to order starting today, and will go on sale in China from June 5th onwards. 

Moto Razr 40 Ultra specifications

  • Display: The Moto Razr 40 Ultra has a large 3.6-inch external display which is a pOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Inside is a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
  • Processor: Under the hood of the foldable phone runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with Adreno 730 GPU.
  • RAM and storage: The foldable phone comes with 8GB and 12GB of RAM with 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
  • Battery: It packs a 3,800mAh battery with 33W TurboPower fast charging and 5W wireless charging support.
  • Cameras: With the Moto Razr 40 Ultra, you get a 12MP primary camera with OIS, and a 13MP ultra-wide autofocus camera. There’s a 32MP front camera for selfies. 
  • Connectivity: Its connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C port, and NFC.
  • Audio: The Moto Razr 40 Ultra is equipped with stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos.
  • Software: On the software front, the Moto Razr 40 Ultra runs Android 13 with Moto MyUX interface.

  • Display: The Moto Razr 40 comes with a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED internal display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the outside.
  • Processor: The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor with Adreno 644 GPU. 
  • RAM and storage: It packs 8GB and 12GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. 
  • Battery: The Moto Razr 40 has a bigger 4,200mAh battery with 33W TurboPower fast charging and 5W wireless charging support.
  • Cameras: In the photography department, the Moto Razr 40 sports a 64MP primary camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. It also comes with a 32MP front camera for selfies. 
  • Connectivity: You get the same connectivity options as the Razr 40 Ultra which include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB Type-C port and NFC.
