Acer’s carbon neutrality commitment
Acer ensures there are lower emissions at every stage of making Vero laptops. It does this following international standards.
The devices are made with a “conscious technology” or a sustainable design in mind.
It is part of the RE100 initiative that aims to use 100% renewable electricity by 2035 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
The high-quality carbon credits it thus earns will be again used for carbon neutrality.
Here’s how the upcoming Acer Vero 16 laptop will set precedence:
Acer Aspire Vero 16’s efficient design
The Vero 16 will be made of 60% recycled plastic and there is no VOC on it. Even the touchpad is made of recycled ocean-bound plastic.
Under the hood, the device will be running on a relatively more efficient Intel Core Ultra processor backed by AI optimisations from Intel AI boost and built-in NPU.
From a battery-life standpoint, the laptop comes armed with features like AcerSense battery management software and 4 performance modes viz., Eco+, Eco, Balanced and Performance.
It will be easier to disassemble and repair if something is at fault, thanks to the use of standard screws.
The packing material (FSC-certified paper box) is also made out of 100% recycled material and its clever design allows for re-recycling.
The company goes on to reveal even its logistics partners have agreed to control standard sea container’ emissions.
Acer is yet to reveal other specs and details about the Vero 16 laptop. It just lets us know that the laptop will be launching in January 2024 in Las Vegas.
