iPhone 15 Plus assembled in India
Apple plans to start assembling the iPhone 15 Plus at its Foxconn’s plant in Tamil Nadu, the Economic Times reported. It is set to begin next quarter following the successful production of the iPhone 15, the report added. Apple is also aiming to double iPhone sales in India next quarter with its offerings including the new iPhones and price cuts on older models. This is expected to bring record sales for iPhones in India during the next quarter, the report added.
A big shift from previous years, Apple started iPhone 15 production in India before the launch making it ready to sell the same time as the global release. Apple will still rely on units shipped from China as production as production is low, and heavy demand is expected due to the forthcoming festive season. It’s still a big push in terms of local production for iPhones compared to previous years.
