Apple has been long rumoured to be working on a 12-inch MacBook Air laptop. Recently, Jack March of A Tech Website revealed that it would be available in the standard Silver, and iPhone-style Space Grey and Gold colours. Now he has released a follow-up report that reveals a few additional details about its design and features.

According to the report, the new MacBook Air will feature a much thinner design than the current crop of notebooks from the Cupertino tech giant. The bezels around the display will be noticeably thinner, similar to the current MacBook Pro Retina lineup. It is believed to be powered by Intel’s latest Broadwell-Y Core M processors that come with fanless CPUs.

The new MacBook Air will adopt the new reversible USB Type C connector, which was recently finalised by the USB 3.0 Promoter Group. The keyboard of the device is reportedly stretched to the edges, leaving almost no space on the sides. It will feature speakers located above the keyboard with visible grilles, unlike the MacBook Pro lineup that have their speakers placed below the keyboard.

Apple is also considering eliminating the MagSafe charging port on the new MacBook Air, which is currently being used on all MacBook models. However, the source isn’t clear on whether this has been finalised or not.
