Highlights

  • MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the new M2 chipset were announced at WWDC 2022 on Monday.
  • The new M2 MacBook laptops will be sold in India starting next month.

Apple has announced the new in-house M2 chipset at the WWDC and the company has also accompanied it with two new laptops: the new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro refresh. Apple announced the India prices of these new laptops and they will be released in the country soon. And while MacBook users in India were hoping this would lead to a price drop on the M1 MacBook Air, Apple had other plans. Shortly after the announcement, the MacBook Air M1 model received a price hike in India. Here is the new price of the M1 Apple MacBook Air.

MacBook Air M1 new price in India

Apple MacBook Air M1 price in India now starts at Rs 99,900 for the base 256GB storage version instead of Rs 92,900. This means the older MacBook Air with an M1 chipset has seen a price jump of Rs 7,000. The reason behind this hike isn’t clear at the moment but we believe it has something to do with the supply chain limitations or just Apple wanting users to choose the latest M2 model instead.
