The company stated that with the W5800 Home Cinema Projector, their goal is to transform home viewing by bringing the cinematic experience to customers’ living rooms.

BenQ W5800 features

BenQ says the new W5800 is designed to enhance users’ home entertainment experience, offering 4K UHD clarity and vivid colours with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, powered by a Blue Core Laser light source with a lifespan of up to 25,000 hours.

With 2600 ANSI Lumens brightness, the BenQ W5800 is claimed to deliver bright and vibrant images. In Cinema Mode, it achieves 1700 ANSI Lumens brightness in 100% DCI-P3, setting a new standard for image quality. Its All-Glass Lens system likely reduces colour difference, ensuring a clear 4K image display.

The company said the BenQ W5800 delivers balanced visuals in dark and bright scenes. It features a “Filmmakers” mode to offer an authentic viewing.

At the launch, Rajeev Singh (Managing Director, BenQ India), shared with 91mobiles that the W5800 is for a dedicated home theatre application and the target audience for this product will be those people who want to experience cinema-like experience in their own homes. He said, “This gives you an experience at your home that is equal to or even better than the top-end multiplex experience that you can have. This projector gives you 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, which means it is able to reproduce colours in a very wide spectrum. The unique thing about this projector is that it is able to give you this coverage at 1700 ANSI Lumens, which is really high for this kind of colour coverage.”

As per BenQ, the W5800 offers easy installation with tools like a 1.6x motorized zoom lens, 2D lens shift, and Corner Fit. The projector supports ARC/eARC for seamless audio connectivity and is compatible with external Anamorphic lenses for a true widescreen experience.
