Pixel 8 series is getting a new Mint colour option.
Google Pixel 8 new colour teased
- The post on X has a small video clip, which shows the Pixel 8 Pro in Blue colour but the new mint colour is sprayed all over.
- The post on X has a binary sequence, which reads "Fresh year, fresh drop."
- The link in the post has a link which redirects to the Google Store and we see the tagline 'Minty Fresh', which suggests the new colour option is Mint.
- Google is reportedly working with a painter @itsaliving to host a unique mural painting event in downtown NYC on January 25th, 2024. This is when the new colour will be launched.
Google Pixel 8 series specifications
- Display: The Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Glass Victus 2 protection, and 2,400 nits peak brightness. While the Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
- Processor: Both phones are powered by the in-house Tensor G3 chipset paired with Titan M2 security microprocessor.
- RAM and storage: The phones pack up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
- Pixel 8 Pro Cameras: The Pixel 8 Pro has a 50MP wide angle lens, a 48MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with Super Res Zoom up to 30x zoom. There is a 10.5MP front camera on the Pixel 8 Pro.
- Pixel 8 Cameras: The vanilla Pixel 8 has a 50MP wide camera with Super Res Zoom up to 8x, EIS and OIS, and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. There is the same 10.5MP selfie camera.
- Battery, charging: There is a large 5,050mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. While the Pixel 8 has a 4,575mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
- Software: Android 14 out-of-the-box. Google is promising 7 years of OS, security and Feature Drop updates.
- Other features: IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, an under-display fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 7, and an ultra-wideband chip for accurate ranging and spatial orientation.
- The Pixel 8 Pro comes with a dedicated temperature sensor at the back to measure your body's temperature.
