It was recently spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website hinting at an imminent launch, and its specs and availability details were also leaked recently. Now, another tipster has revealed what’s supposed to be the full specifications and launch timeline of the Pixel 8a.

Google Pixel 8a specifications leaked

  • Google Pixel 8a will feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to tipster Yogesh Brar. 
  • The smartphone is tipped to be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset, the same one that’s available on the Pixel 8 series.
  • It will come in two storage variants 128GB and 256GB storage, and run Android 14 out-of-the-box.
  • Pixel 8a is said to feature a 64MP primary camera with OIS, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera at the back. For selfies, we might get a 13MP front camera. This is the same camera setup found on the Pixel 7a. 
  • The smartphone is also tipped to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. 

Google Pixel 8a launch timeline, price tipped

The tipster adds that the Pixel 8a will launch in May, which will most likely take place at the Google I/O 2024 event on May 14th. The smartphone is also tipped to cost between $500 and $550, which translates to around Rs 41,635 in India. Pricing would vary for different markets. 

The latest leaked specs sheet is similar to what has been revealed so far. This does suggest some notable upgrades over the Pixel 7a. The Pixel 8a’s display is also expected to offer 1400 nits peak brightness and HDR support. The chipset will be paired with the Mali-G715 GPU. In terms of design, leaks reveal a Pixel 8 series-like design for the Pixel 8a with a visor-like camera strip and curved edges.
