YouTuber PBKReviews has posted a video that features a drop test of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which was launched recently. This video puts the company’s most recent flagship smartphone through a series of rigorous tests with some pretty impressive results.

Huawei uses its own second generation of Kunlun Glass in the Mate 60 Pro instead of the industry favourite Corning Gorilla Glass, as the company was forced to look for domestic alternatives after being cut off from the global supply chain.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro drop test

PBKReviews starts with taking off the screen protector that comes with the phone. Then, he dropps the phone two times – once with the screen side down and once with the back side down.

In the first part of the test, the YouTuber drops the phone from a height that’s about as tall as a person’s head onto a hard concrete floor. The phone gets a few small scratches on its frame and screen, but the screen still works perfectly fine.

The YouTuber then tries dropping it again from the height of a person’s head, but this time, he wants it to land on its side. However, when it hits the floor on its back, it causes a crack in the camera bezel glass. The screen is still intact.

There’s one more drop, this time from the height of a person’s waist, still aiming for the phone’s side. The phone ends up with a few more scratches on its back and side, but the display screen remains unharmed.

To see how tough the Huawei Mate 60 Pro is, the YouTuber then runs a car over it slowly with the phone’s screen facing the ground. Surprisingly, the phone comes out of this without any damage and is still working perfectly. Then, he checks the phone for scratches by shoving it in sand and gravel.

The Youtuber mentions that for now, Kunlun Glass is better than Corning Gorilla Glass,” as the phone passes all the tests without any problems.
