Huawei Consumer Business has scheduled a Product and Strategy event for February 24th in Madrid. This comes after the MWC show got officially cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak. Now, the company has confirmed it would unveiling a range of devices and new technology on the stage. Rumours suggest the brand would be launching a new foldable phone- the Mate Xs with the latest Kirin 990 SoC and improved hinge design. Despite being an update, the foldable phone is said to cost lower than the 2019's Huawei Mate X. Moreover, Huawei is also expected to introduce new MateBook X Pro laptop, MatePad Pro 5G tablet, a smartwatch, and more.
"Immediately following the Livestream press conference, interactive demos will be on display for consumers to experience Huawei's cutting-edge products," the company noted.
As for the Huawei Mate Xs, it is expected to come with dual-mode 5G connectivity, and China's 3C certification revealed that it would have 65W fast-charging support. The foldable phone is tipped to feature a reinforced display and a redesigned hinge to make it more durable than before. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the Huawei event at the moment, but since we're just a few days away, we should know more soon.
Separately, Huawei's sub-brand Honor will be unveiling the Honor 9X Pro global variant on February 24th. It is confirmed to come with Kirin 810 SoC and HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) instead of Google Play Services. It is expected to rock a pop-up selfie camera on the front and vertically-aligned triple cameras at the back. The Honor 9X Pro is likely to boot Android 10 OS out of the box.
