iPhone 15 Pro Max achieves 96 percent faster 5G download speeds than iPhone 14 Pro Max in US
The list of the top five median 5G download speeds for the third quarter does not include the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The internet testing and analysis platform's report highlights the performance of the most widely used smartphones in the US during the third quarter of 2023 in terms of download and upload speed and latency. Here are the details.
iPhone 15 Pro Max faster download speeds details
- The newly announced iPhone 15 Pro Max stood out on the list, achieving a median download speed of 251.37 Mbps, as per the report.
- When compared to the 127.83 Mbps that the iPhone 14 Pro Max had in the second quarter this year, the iPhone 15 Pro Max offered a significantly faster median download speed, around 96 percent faster.
As per reports, the increase in 5G download speeds may not be solely due to Qualcomm's new 5G modem. Ookla's list of the top five median 5G download speeds in the US for the third quarter does not include the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, both of which have the Snapdragon X70 5G modem. This hints that the 3nm A17 Pro chipset, exclusive to the non-Pro 2023 iPhone models, may play a role in the faster 5G download speeds.
